The Ranks You Need

Defense Against Guards

Cost: 115 Points

Reward: 250 vitality after 5 stacks gained.

The catch: You must kill 5 guards or supervisors to get the vitality and it will go away if you go down, just like weapon sigil stacks.

Comments: This is really annoying to put points in, because only the last rank is any good, but it is a huge stat boost so it has become necessary for hardcore wvwers. I wouldn’t put points into this first unless you know you will get the ranks fast through boosters etc.

Supply Master

Cost: 10 points. (CHEAP)

Reward:

Rank 1. Pick up supply while moving (instant).

Rank 2-3. Gain swiftness upon pickup (replaced by improved swiftness for third rank).

Rank 4. Have a chance to recover 0-6 supply when spending supply (must spend all supply for the chance).

Rank 5. Siege blueprints placed is invulnerable for 4 seconds.

Comments: No excuse not to get the first rank. Ranks 2-3 are pretty meh, but the fourth rank is damn amazing. Fifth rank is sexy for all commanders throwing siege down to take down arrow carts, etc when sieging keeps.

Build Master

Cost: 1, 5, 15, 30

Reward: Spend 4, 6, 8, 10 supply at once (last rank is expensive, so probably not worth it)

Comments: This is superb for speed building offensive siege like rams, golems, arrow carts, and ballistas. Two ranks means you just have to build for a few seconds to spend 10 supply.

Arrow Cart Mastery

Cost: 5, 15, 30, 50, (75, don’t get!)

Reward: Increased Range, damage, and radius. The radius and range is the main reason to get this as it makes it able to counter more siege than previously possible and defend from safer distances.

Comments: For a month or so, this was the best mastery in the game and it is still extremely good vs. players. The last rank is trash since the poison only lasts a few seconds and it has a minute cooldown, but the fourth rank is amazing because the radius increase is huge.

Ballista Mastery

Cost: 5, 15, 30, 50, (75 is okay)

Reward: Spreadshot skill (close range high damage), Increased damage (25%), Faster attack projectiles, Increased Range, and the optional 75 point is increased spreadshot radius.

Comments: Ballista mastery lets you hit hard to reach enemy siege which is great when you are attacking keeps. It will shred enemies at close range with the spreadshot. ;)

Guard Killer

Cost: 115 Points

Reward: 100 condition damage and 100 power after 5 stacks gained.

The catch: You must kill 5 guards or supervisors to get the vitality and it will go away if you go down, just like weapon sigil stacks.

Comments: Just like Defense Against Guards, this is only good for the last rank. However, it is a pretty good boost of damage once you get it for all around damage.

Repair Mastery

Cost: 1, 4, 10, 20

Reward: Repair with 4, 6, 8, or 10 supply at once.

Comments: It is very useful for closing gates fast as enemies pour in and repairing a hot door that is under attack (while calvary comes). The first two ranks are extremely cheap, so they are a must have.

Catapault Mastery

Cost: 5, 15, 30, 50, 75

Reward: Increased damage, and bubble which blocks siege projectiles (mortars included).

Comments: Bubble can be abused by two people casting bubble in rotation since the cooldown is internal to the player and not the siege unlike other siege weapons. The damage increase is very high against walls.

Trebuchet Mastery

Cost: 5, 15, 30, 50, 75

Reward: Increased damage, cow attack drains supply from enemies (overpowered right now), increased radius, can launch water field, can destroy keep/tower supply by hitting supply depot.

Comments: The second rank is incredible for trolling enemies since you can attack through gates with it. It is extremely powerful. The rest is icing on the cake and the last rank is gimmicky so I don’t suggest getting it because you will never get to use it unless some new treb spots are discovered.

 

Optional Rank build order

1. Supply Master rank 1  (1 point) for instant supply pickup.

2. Build Master rank 2 (5 points) for spending 6 supply at a time while building.

3. Arrow Cart Master rank 1 (5 points) for increased range of arrow carts.

4. Repair Master rank 2 (4 points) for repairing with 6 supply at a time.

5. Supply Master rank 4 (9 more points) (get rank 5 if commander) for chance to get supply when all supply is spent.

5. Defense Against Guards all ranks (115 points) for the 250 increased vitality.

6. Guard Killer all ranks (115 points) for the 100 condition damage and 100 power increase.

7. Arrow Cart Master rank 4 (45 more points) for increased damage and radius.

8. Ballista Master Rank 4 (50 points) for increased damage and range.

9. Catapault Master Rank all (75 points) for shield bubble and increased damage.

10. Siege Bunker Rank all (30 points) for 5% reduced siege damage to self.

11. Ballista Mastery Rank 5 (25 more points) for more scattershot damage.

12. Siege Might rank all (30 points) for 5% more damage with siege.

13. Finish build master, supply master, and start on Trebuchet Mastery. Put ranks in whatever you want. I don’t recommend mortar mastery or any rank past 2 on Supply Capacity because of extreme costs. Save for whatever mastery comes in next patch. I usually get Treb mastery last because I hate being on Trebs all day, but they have a good mastery line just the same.
